Tides of Torment DLC Trailer + Release Date + Units! – Warhammer 3

Oh, Sha CA just dropped a trailer for Tides of Torment. Here it is. First of all, oh Lost Soul, a servant to your masters. What has loyalty given? Where has devotion led? Shed it all. Change is painful, but pain brings freedom. Yeah. Heat. Heat. Heat. So, some stuff to talk about mostly at the end there. First of all, in this trailer, we see a suffering elf, which is fantastic. But alongside this trailer came a blog with the most notable announcement that this DLC is being delayed to December 4th. It was originally supposed to come out, well, originally it was supposed to come out ages ago, but then they eventually said end of October. Now, we’re back to December 4th. This is because of the state of the game and some of the problems it’s been having. There has recently been a hot fix to fix the whole lizard men tomb kings fiasco where those armies weren’t really doing anything. So hopefully that’s out the way, but maybe a few more bits to tidy up. But overall, I think it’s good that they’re pushing it back to make sure the game is in good shape and to make sure the DLC is going to be solid and absolutely banging. And we’re about to see another suffering elf. This has got to be the best trailer ever. But yeah, DLC delayed kind of sucks, but it’s probably for the best. We’ll get to see some more of the DLC though at the start of November. Hopefully I’ll get my beard on it not too long after that. So yeah, we just got to wait a little bit longer, but hey, you’ll have something to do over Christmas at least. Now to some stuff we can see in the trailer. We see the high elf lord Alen surviving his stabbing unfortunately. But we first of all can see some Lothan sky cutters. We knew these were coming already. Of course, it was announced a while ago, but this is basically a flying chariot for the high elves. This one is probably the mount version for a lord because the normal version, I believe, has an eagleclaw bolt thrower on the back. So, it’s a mobile flying artillery essentially. So, that’s going to be pretty nasty for the high elves air game. And as it swoops over the beach, we can see an infantry. I’m not sure if it’s just a different color scheme or whether this is a different unit. But, a couple of potential new high elf infantries there. And what look like big old cruise ships in the background. I guess that’s alien ship bringing tourism to the high elf world. And then popping out of the ground, we got some water boys or oceanids if you want to use the Latin. And a sea elemental. So, some monstrous infantry there and a single entity watery monster. but monstrous infantry, something the high elves have never had, plus a single entity monster. They only got dragons otherwise. And then there’s this boy as well, a caster of the new Lore of Mists magic coming to the game as well. And then we see a little bit of the Norskin boy, Sailed the Faithless, with a few potentially new creatures around him, his monkey boy thing, Nightmore here. And then zooming out on the left here, we see a Fimeir, likely the new Fimeir noble hero. And then on the right, we see some new infantry and potentially new cavalry. This kind of looks like the old cavalry, but maybe it’s a new one. Hopefully something a bit heavier for Noska. So, looking like a nice collection of new units. We’ve also got this big old sex machine. Looking kind of like a regiment of renowned version of the big old boy behind him. Essentially looking like a new form of Norskin giant. But is he going to be different than the regular Norskin giant? We shall see. Then we’ve got Dala chopping down some Cathans as you do. And then a new big boy monster for the Slenesh roster. Assumably the Pton. These boys were created by the Beastmen. So expect to see them in their roster as well. a kind of a chaosy monster, a flying corrupted great stag essentially. The first proper flying beasty for the Slenesh roster though other than furies. And then we see a few different units here. The titty snakes at the back first of all that is the official name obviously, but some people call them pleasure seekers for some reason. And then we see another new legendary lord, the free LC lord, the mask of Slenesh. She’s going to have some dancy stuff going on. We’ll talk about that in a second. And then we’ve got a new monstrous infantry, the champions of Slenesh. These snaky forearmmed infantry swordsmen. no doubt going to be absolute infantry killers. So, a few new units being shown in this trailer that we haven’t seen yet, but there are some we have heard about already from some of the dev blogs and stuff. But one final one here, a big boy for the high elves, the Merworm. This chunky sea creature can come on land and he’s going to do it to fight with the high elves. So, a big single entity monster coming to the high elf roster outside of dragons. That’s a little bit different for them. I’m imagining a sort of Jaba Sly vibe with this thing. But yeah, a lot of cool stuff coming with this DLC. We just got to wait a little bit for it. Other than that, the blog does mention a new launcher that’s coming, which is cool, but also mention some updates to the existing factions of the DLC, such as a new update for the high elves centers around the new patrons of the realm feature, which lets factions v for influence across 11 seats of power to unlock rewards and potential confederations. Alongside this, Tyrion gets a new champion of oldworn feature, allowing him to enact new themed actions on a visible region or force, whilst Techlas gains a secret of the white tower feature, allowing him to supercharge the spellcasting potential of wizards throughout his armies. So, a nice refresh for the high elves for all you weird high elf fans, and especially for those two original Warhammer 2 legendary lords, Techlas and Tyrion. Norskar will get some updates to some of the legacy features such as allegiances and monstrous arcanum. There’s a new pillaging feature, whatever that is. Also, Wolf Rick and Throg getting some updates, getting some quality of life love. Wolf Rick getting a new start position as well and his ability to travel around the world much faster. And then for Slenesh, the Lord of Excess welcomes perhaps the headline element of patch 7.0, the introduction of a brand new legendary lord that’s bound to keep you on your toes to mask off Slenesh. That’s the weird lady we saw earlier. As his herald, you’ll conduct the eternal dance, a fast-paced campaign mechanic where armies performed themed dances to gain escalating bonuses, rewarding aggressive play and constant momentum. So, if you enjoy doing sexy dances, this one’s for you. But yeah, that should be interesting. I do enjoy aggressive play and constant momentum myself, so I’m intrigued by that one. But there we go. Lots of exciting new stuff coming with the Tides of Torment DLC. We just got to wait until December to get our little grubby sausage fingers on it. But I think we can probably mostly agree that it’s for the best. We don’t want the game to be a mess and to have all these issues and then them to bring out a DLC on top of it. People aren’t going to be a fan of that. It’s going to look like they’re just doing it for the money, right? That’s what we had with Shadows of Change and that whole fiasco. So, good that they’re trying to avoid that, making sure the game’s in a good state first and then bring us fresh stuff. But there we go. What do you reckon? What are your thoughts? How do you feel about these units, these DLCs? I’m curious how people take these. So, do let me know below. Alongside the release of this DLC as well is the announcement of what the next Total Wars are going to be for Fantasy and historical on 40k and medieval 3. The showcase of that is going to be on December 4th when this DLC releases. So, a lot to look forward to on that date. It’s going to be a big day. But there we go. I hope you’ve enjoyed this. Thanks for watching. Let me know what you think. I will see you in the future.
