LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight | Golden Batmobiles & Batsuit DLC!
Hey, what’s going on everybody? Welcome to QuickBreak Games and today we’re going to be talking about TTGame next title, Lego Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight, releasing in 2026 because New York Comic-Con just happened. Now, they didn’t give us any new major gameplay or a new trailer or anything like that, but they did give us a new look at some DLC coming to the game, which is what we’re going to be focusing on in this video. And they also inadvertently narrowed down the release date time frame for the game, too, but more on that later. So, on October 9th, the official Lego Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight X account posted this. How do you improve a 97 classic sparkled up with a gold paint job? Drive the Batmobile from Batman and Robin in Lego Batman game. Get the new Lego DC Batman and Robin Batmobile set to unlock an exclusive digital Batmobile from the Batman and Robin film, plus an exclusive gold variant. Redeemable in-game upon release. Pre-order for the Lego set starts October 9th. Lego sets available March 1st. All right, so we already knew that the game has pretty much every Batmobile, but now we have this gold variant or skin for the 1997 Batman and Robin version. They even released a small bit of gameplay through this short video to show it off in game. But that’s not all. The next day, the official Batman X account posted this. This Batmobile has a paint job Martha would be proud of. It sparkles, too. Get the new Lego DC Batman vs. Superman Batmobile set to unlock an exclusive digital Batmobile from Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice film plus an exclusive gold variant. Then it says redeemable in game upon release and pretty much all the same stuff that the last one said. And now they also gave us another short gameplay clip of this Ben Affleck Batmobile in action along with its new gold variant. Uh the Batman account posted their gameplay in much higher quality than the Lego Batman account which was nice. And then later that day, they posted one for the Robert Patson Batmobile. But does it come in gold? The Batman’s Batmobile gets its first new paint job. Get the new Lego DC Batman the Batman Batmobile set to unlock the Batmobile from the Batman film, plus an exclusive gold variant. So, all three of these Batmobiles will have gold variants unlockable in game by purchasing these LEGO sets. But I am a little bit concerned. If we navigate to the Lego store pages for any of these sets, there’s a piece of text that reads, “Bonus digital unlock feature. Redeem the Batman Batmobile and a golden variant of the Batmobile in the video game Lego Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight. Scan the QR code on the building instructions and follow the directions. Now, you can let me know how you interpret this, but based on this statement, it sounds like in order to get these Batmobiles in the game at all, gold or not, you will need to purchase these sets, each of which are about $30. If you’re not convinced, it’s especially clear if we reread the expost about the Batman and Robin set again. Says, “Get the new Lego DC Batman and Robin Batmobile set to unlock an exclusive digital Batmobile from the Batman and Robin film, plus an exclusive gold variant.” So, it’s calling the 1997 Batman and Robin Batmobile itself an exclusive in addition to the gold variant. Now, in my opinion, that’s really going to suck if all three of these Batmobiles are exclusive to buying $30 sets, or in other words, it would be nearly $100 after tax to get all three. The gold variants, I can understand, but having the Batmobiles themselves be exclusive is a bit too far. What’s strange is that the 2022 Robert Patson Batmobile is playable in the demo. And from what I understand, from all the information that we got at Gamescom, this will be the first Batmobile that you get in the game. But now, all this new information that we’re getting from New York Comic- Con and the Lego store page kind of contradicts this by saying that you need to buy this physical set to unlock it in game. It’s all a bit confusing, but I’m just hoping that this is a mistake and that only the gold variants are exclusive to the sets. Anyway, another negative thing about this is that it seems that these will be one-time use unique download codes. This won’t simply be generic cheat codes that are included with these sets that’ll be shared everywhere online. At least that’s the vibe I’m getting. If we take a look at the box art for any of these sets, it says bonus digital content in-game Batmobile plus gold variant. Terms and conditions apply. So, one, once again, it’s distinguishing that the digital content is both the Batmobile itself and the gold variant. And two, the terms and conditions apply part. Definitely sounds like this won’t be a simple reusable cheat code, but a unique code that you’re going to need to enter online through your platform storefront, and then it’ll need to be downloaded to your console or PC. So, pretty much what I’m saying is everyone will need to actually buy these sets in order to get this content. So, overall, I think it’s great that we’re getting these gold variants, but it sounds like it’s going to be pretty expensive if we want to get these Batmobiles in game. And then they also revealed one more Lego set that includes Legacy of the Dark Knight DLC. It’s the Batman logo set. This one is the most expensive at about $80 and it will include a golden variant of Batman. It says here on the LEGO website, bonus digital unlock feature. Redeem a golden character to play in the video game Lego Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight. Scan the QR code on the building instructions and follow the directions. Now, this one I’m completely fine with. Batman himself obviously isn’t going to be locked behind at buying this set. So, this is just if you want the gold variant. So, that sounds all right to me. And additionally here, you’ll notice that all four of these new Lego sets are releasing March 1st, 2026. So, I think we can safely say that Lego Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight will not be releasing before then. To be honest, I don’t think anyone was expecting the game to release in January or February, but I think this kind of solidifies that since it would be odd for the game to release before the sets with DLC are available. So, we’re looking at March at the absolute earliest for the game. But, personally, I think it’s going to be maybe in the summer or even in the fall next year. We’re just going to have to wait and see. All right, so before we wrap things up, I briefly want to mention this post from the official Legacy of the Dark Knight account. It says here, “Alfred, the nominees for the 43rd annual Golden Joystick Awards most wanted game are in and we made the list. Now’s our chance to save Gotham City and vote now.” So, definitely go to the website and vote for Lego Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight as your most wanted game of 2026. Let’s get this game the win. So, that’s going to wrap up the news from New York Comic-Con regarding the next Lego Batman game. It’s a little bittersweet. It’s great that we’re getting cool gold variants of the Batmobiles and Batman, but it’s a massive bummer if those three Batmobiles are paywalled behind spending nearly $100 on Lego sets. Let me know your thoughts on all this and if I’m interpreting all this correctly. But I don’t know. I think it’s pretty clear if you read that initial expost from the official Legacy of the Dark Knight account. But be sure to like this video if you enjoyed it, dislike it if not, subscribe for more content like this, and I’ll see you guys next time here on Quick Break Games.
