Nintendo Today is Slightly Less Dumb Now! (+ DK Bananza DLC Events!)
Nearly six months ago, I made a video talking about how dumb the Nintendo Day app really is. And one of the many reasons I gave was the fact that it didn’t let you share anything within the app anywhere else. You can just screen record, take pictures, or even have a sharing link within the app. Well, at least one of those have now been resolved thanks to a brand new update 2.0.1 for Nintendo today that finally adds a sharing option to most of the stories. Not everything, but a lot of the stories now have a sharing link allowing you to share it with your friends, your uh Twitter, your social media, whatever it is, you can put that link wherever you want. And anyone who can access that link, it’ll automatically open the app for them or take them to a web browser that tells them how to open it with the app, either through a QR code or uh or otherwise. So, yeah, they fixed one big issue. Now, not by far far from my only issue, but this is a step in the right direction. I just wish it took him a little bit quicker than, you know, the 6 months it has been since that video. But as I was scrolling through the app just now for this video, I noticed something else. They have a cool 3D model of some of the Kirby Air Riders figures, or at least the one I found here. And that is actually something else I said in that video that they should do. More 3D more 3D models like that as he had teased the idea with like some Switch 2 accessories. And I said they should show character models, too. So, they’re doing it now. So, I can’t help but wonder if Nintendo saw that video and maybe it’s actually taking feedback from it or maybe it’s just all coincidence. In any case, I’d like to thank You’re welcome everyone. In any case, beyond that, uh the app itself is still kind of dumb, but if Nintendo keeps taking baby steps like this, maybe in a few years from now, it won’t be a completely dumb app, especially if they keep adding uh you know, meaningful content and whatever else. Unfortunately, it still won’t let you screen record. I try, as you can see during this very video, all the screen recordings are blank and uh that’s still an annoyance from the app. And also, we’ll see Nintendo copyright strike this video like they did already um with the close to you video that we did, though they did resend that 24 hours later to their credit. Anyways, that’s it for Nintendo today because I’m tired of talking about this dumb app. But again, hopefully it keeps getting better because, you know, I’m I’m all for the app being good one of these days. Just uh they need to keep making improvements to it. There is some other slight news here, though, and that’s the fact that Donkey Kong Bonanza has a new event coming up for the Emerald Rush mode. apparently will have a series or ongoing advanced comic Splatoon 3 or or like any Splatoon game. In which case, this one is going to be a chip fever and it’ll give you the opportunity to earn um rare uh rare I think statues from the game um along with maybe other things that will be running October 28th to November 4th. If you want more details, I’ll link to in the description below. It is in Japanese for right now primarily, but you can just translate it using your browser.
