Gates of Hell’s Commonwealth DLC MORE INFO

The Finest Hour DLC, which will at the Commonwealth: The Gates of Hell, is still set to release before the end of this year. And the developers actually posted a new death block going over some more new details, which we’re taking a look at here today in this video. All right, howdy folks. Welcome back to the channel. In case you had forgotten, the Finest Hour DLC will add the British, Scottish, Canadian, as well as Polish forces to the game with their own voice acting, equipment, and uniforms. adding over 170 new vehicles, including tanks, aircraft, trucks, cannons, and basically everything else for both the Commonwealth faction, as well as a few new toys for the Germans. Also, new assets to recreate both the Netherlands and Belgium will be added to the game. But before you get too excited, I am talking about in terms of landscape and building props. Sadly, not really as factions. Now, what are your thoughts on the DLC and its setting? Are you excited? like what DLC would you actually want to see maybe next going forward in 2026. And I’ve also actually added my own idea of what I think will be the next DLC near the end of the video. Let me know if you agree with what I think going on. The finest hour DLC adds over a 100 pieces of equipment. Think guns, grenades, helmets, and so on to go alongside over 500 human character models which cover all three settings of early, mid, and late war in game. The DLC is going to have 16 new singleplayer missions, which includes missions for both the Commonwealth as well as Germany, spanning 1940 to 1945, which means we’ll finally get some quote unquote Blitzkrieg, as the developers themselves wrote it. Missions set in the early days of the war in Western Europe. Now, finally, I am really excited to get a whole new faction to play as or against, of course, in Conquest with Finest Hour adding 20 new multiplayer/conquest maps. kind of having my fingers crossed here for some Market Garden inspired ones. Now, with this quick overview, the developers mentioned that Finest Hour is potentially their biggest DLC for Gates of Hell thus far. So, keep that in the back of your mind as we’re moving into some of the new information. Now, as I mentioned, the addition of the Commonwealth, the year 1940 now opens up for both the Germans as well as the Allies, to which war against each other on the digital gates of hell battlefields, which according to some of the pictures so far definitely includes the 1940 Dunkerk Evacuation is at least one mission. Now, besides these new Belgian and Dutch assets for mapmaking, there’s also going to be new German and French maps added in the DLC as well. It’s obviously kind of easy to assume that these German maps are focused around that late war 1944 1945 setting. These French maps could cover both the early western front days of 1940. We’ll also likely see some of these cover the battle for Khan to name one set in 1944, for example. The new Commonwealth campaign is specifically mentioned here, listing a few features that are meant to maximize the immersion through 20 minutes of both in-game and even pre-rendered cinematics. 40 motion captured animations characters will use during cutscenes, as well as what they say is a smoother transition between a cinematic ending and a gameplay session beginning. The 12 German and Soviet campaign missions in the original Ostront release for Gates of Val had around 450 voice lines here. The developers state that they have over 570 voice lines for just seven missions in the new Commonwealth campaign. And while I do not dislike the idea of more immersive features like these voice lines or the cinematics, it’s not something that I’m specifically looking to get out of Gates of Hell. But of course, in the end, I am pretty excited to see what they have cooked up for us here. And honestly, some of these images look very crisp. In terms of the gameplay, the average mission play time is roughly 45 to 60 minutes as they say here. But I do wonder is that on normal with fog of war off? Are we talking hard or hardcore with fog of war on? I’m kind of already getting nightmares just thinking about playing Hedge Roell, one of the uh missions from the Liberation DLC just after release on hard with fog of war on which took I think about 2 and 1 half to 3 hours to get done in co-op. It further mentions here that there will be gameplay or story events happening quote frequently to keep missions dynamic, which I’m not sure what that exactly might mean. Maybe you’re going to have to like rescue some person who’s stuck on the battlefield or some vehicle has to be repaired, but I haven’t really delved much into that further at all here. Furthermore, also there are going to be some historical characters showing up as well as there are going to be about roughly 10 or so secret or hidden objectives for these historical characters. Maybe we’re talking like General Raml as he pushes into France in 1940 is maybe going to be a character or Montgomery as we’re doing some market garden scenarios. a couple of ideas, but maybe you have someone that you think will be here in the DLC as a historical character. Let me know down what you think. In terms of multiplayer, Finest Hour will add several weapons and vehicles that will only be available in multiplayer. These are probably vehicles or units that fall kind of outside of the time that the campaigns take place in. Perhaps something like the Centurion tank, though, I do hope that we get these in conquest, even if just for a ton of points. For now, the developers have confirmed that finest hour only covers the western front, which means that some vehicles that are iconic in the Commonwealth arsenal, such as the Crusader tanks, will not be seen in the campaign. While they were seen in North Africa, to just name one theater, by the time the Allies actually landed in Normandy in 1944, the tank was just no longer considered to be effective against the newest German tanks, which is the Panther or Tiger, and probably rightfully so. However, in multiplayer, the Crusader tanks will be available in both mid and late war, as well as making an appearance in Conquest. So, we do have some units that are going to be limited maybe just to multiplayer or conquest. As long as they’re available somewhere and not just Heartlock to the editor, I am super okay with that. I do strongly believe that we will see a North African theater DLC in the future. perhaps would say the addition of the Italian forces as a faction. Seeing as so far these faction DLCs like Tal Vizoto for the Finnish, liberation for the Americans are here, Finest Hour for the Commonwealth, have always added sort of one major faction or just one faction in general cuz these are a ton of work. And it’s not like adding the SinoJapanese War DLC, which would be very cool and interesting and unique. They would have to make two factions from scratch. So, it’s just not as likely going to be something like that. However, a DLC that would add Italians as a faction is something that I can definitely see as the allies have already been made and their enemy is sorted. They just have to quote unquote make an Italian faction completely from scratch. A lot of work, but I definitely could see that being a major thing they could do. I should add here that I do believe there’s going to be a smaller DLC at some point in 2026, which isn’t really a big guesstimate. That’s just what they’ve kind of been doing, right? this smaller DLC. I’m thinking we could have a French DLC set in the 1940s initially where you play as the French army defending France from the German invasion and then perhaps even some German perspective missions as well with the other half of the DLC focusing on some French resistance missions or even some of the French armored divisions that kind of came up after the D-Day invasion trying to help liberate the rest of France. Finally, closed beta testing for Finest Hour began just a few weeks ago. So, they are obviously working on getting this DLC ready to go and the official store page as well as a trailer are both to be released soon. I’ll make sure to cover those all as a day go live. So, make sure to keep your eyes peeled for those. Now, what are your thoughts regarding future DLCs or even just what are you thinking about the finest hour DLC so far and what you’ve seen from it? As always, thank you for watching and I’ll catch you in the next one.
