Elden Ring Nightreign DLC Looks INSANE! | GAMEPLAY BREAKDOWN!

All right. What’s going on, guys? Gentlemen, here it is. We finally got the trailer for the DLC for Elden Ring Night Reign, which we now know as the Forsaken Hollows. Now, we’ve known about a lot of what was going to be contained in this DLC because much of it had leaked ahead of time. However, there are still a ton of surprises in this trailer, things that we did not expect, and we’re going to break all of it down. Now, this trailer was absolutely awesome. However, there are a few things that are quite disappointing about what we’ve been shown, and I’ll explain exactly what that is, and then one thing in particular that really drives me crazy about this, but I’ll save that for the end. And I wanted to get this video out sooner, but this trailer dropped at a very bad time for me. So, apologies for the late upload. But, as always, if you want to stay up to date on all things Elden Ring Night Re, go ahead and hit that subscribe button. And now, let’s get into it. Now, before we break down this trailer frame by frame, let’s go through all of the official information that was published alongside the trailer. The announcement reads, “In our war against the knights, every battle left a scar. A foul life born of castaway souls. Steal your resolve, nightfares. This hunt must be seen to its end. Elden Ring Night Reign: The Forsaken Hollows launches on December 4th, 2025. Now, right off the bat, I’m sure you guys saw the headlines going around the past few days talking about this DLC releasing before March 2026. We just made a video a few days ago talking about the exact release date of this DLC. And I said in that video, there’s no way they wait for 2026 for this. There’s no way they release three titles in one year. So, I’m glad to see that they are pushing this out before the calendar end. And it’s actually not that far away at all. But what all is this DLC going to include? Well, from the leaks, we knew that we were going to get two new Nightfares, and that is the case. And their names are exactly what we already knew, Scholar and Undertaker. And these designs are incredibly cool. Very unique in contrast to everything else in Elder Ring. And I kind of think these might be a hint at something else, but that’s a video for another time. We’ll go into more detail about their abilities here in a second. But Scholar seems to be a deck magic hybrid, but not Glintstone magic. This seems to be a unique type. Scholar has the main weapon of hammers and maces, I believe, and seems to have the ability to teleport. We’re also getting two new bosses in this DLC, which unfortunately the trailer shows. One of which is this angel type character that can clone itself. Looks like we’ll be fighting seven bosses at once. And the other is the dreg lord who appears to be the main villain of the DLC, the whole store of the DLC who’s described as an amalgamation of souls with power to rival the night lord. And let me just say this arena for the dreg lord looks absolutely insane. That is incredible design right there. In addition to two new nightfares and two new night lords, we’re also getting a new shifting earth. This shifting earth is the great hollow, a large hole deep underground in Limbel. It is covered with crystals that emit a curse that corrods life and is dotted with towers of divinity, strange ruins left behind by ancient people and temples. And I believe this is going to have a connection to Scholar as if you listen to the leaked audio, he describes his ancient people and finally being able to find the place they resided. But that’s all the information we got officially describing things for 100% certainty. Now, let’s dive into this trailer bit by bit and see what we can extract. The trailer opens up with a shot of Limbld, and right off the bat, we have some new things going on here. We can see a new POI, this poisonous castle, much like the shaded castle in the base game. This would be a good area to introduce Clean Rot Knights, who were noticeably missing from Night Reign. The trailer then moves on to a shot of Iron Eye, and we get our look at the Flame Inquisitors, who are making a comeback alongside Mesmer soldiers. And if you look closely and look at the color here, it looks like this is inside a castle within the new shifting earth, the great hollow. And you can see a tall golden beam in the background, likely the treasure of the shifting earth. But after that, we get this shot of Duchess down in a Saint Trina cave. I forgot the exact name of this area in the DLC. But we can also see some Coran soldiers here, another faction that was noticeably missing from the base night reign. We then get a shot of Recluse here, who appears to also be down in the great hollow shifting earth. We can tell by the color and the crystals all over the ground. But then we get back toback shots of just some base game content. Honestly, not sure why they included this here, but it does look cool. Then we get to some real meaty content right here. Curse this drag lord with what looks to be the opening cutscene of the DLC. And we can see the drag lord skull, which is very much elongated, almost looking like a dragon of sorts. But we’ll come back to the drag lord. We then get another shot of Wilder flying over the new shifting earth. And it does look super cool. But one thing I want to take a look at in this shot specifically is the giant castle in the background along the ridge. And I believe that’s where those earlier shots took place with the Mesmer soldiers. But when I looked at this at first, I thought, wait, is that No, and can we have two shifting earths at once? But I don’t think it is. I think that’s its own unique castle. And I really wonder what the power of this shifting earth is going to be and what the main boss fight will be. I’m very excited to find out. But after that, we get this shot here, one of the tree giants that we see at the ending cut scene of Night Rain. I’m going to be totally honest. I haven’t looked into the lore of these guys very much, but there is definitely significance to that. Then we move on to our first shot of Undertaker in action, and we can see her pop a few of her abilities. Now, the one we see specifically is what leaked. This cloak her in this sort of glowing aura, and you can see that while this is active, the next attack that hits Undertaker allows her to perform this huge counterattack where she flies up into the air and shoots these huge tentacles out of the end of her mace. Now, like I said, we had heard about this ability before, but I don’t think this is her ultimate. This ability is known as blink stage, and it seems to be extremely useful. But I love the design of Undertaker. This ability looks super cool. The whole aesthetic going on is just awesome. But then we move on to Scholar, who is a magic user that specializes in thrusting swords. And we know a little bit about his specialties. He has an ability called joint chain, which binds enemies together. And exactly as I predicted when we heard about this the first time, if any of you guys play Destiny 2, this is going to be like the Hunter’s Tether ability where, as you can see in this clip, enemies that are bound by this ability will all take damage from attack. So if you hit one enemy, all the other enemies marked by the ability take the damage as well. And you can see when he stabs this one foot soldier, the one behind also reacts. Now, like the hunter’s tether in Destiny, I imagine this will also add a debuff since you want this ability to have some utility when fighting a single boss. And we don’t yet know what his other ability will be, but overall, he looks super cool. I love his design. And if you looked at the leaks, his story is also going to be super interesting. So, I can’t wait to try him out. We then get a shot of the Jar Bazaar. And you can notice here the room in the background is now open. And that’s where Undertaker is going to reside. Here we can see that we’re getting a daytime invasion of Gladius. now. Although it just looks to be one dog, but maybe they’re faking us out with that because one dog on its own might be a little too easy. And we can also see now the divine beast dancing lion is returning. I figured this would be the one remembrance boss from the DLC they bring back. And it looks like that is going to be the case. But one thing to note here is the arena we’re fighting him in. This looks to be enclosed. So I imagine this is a night boss, but we’ll just have to wait and see on that. Then we see the first night lord. We don’t know the name yet, but it’s this sevenfold angel figure. Absolutely incredible design. And I love how the tree roots in the background are sort of angel wings. Yeah, fighting seven of them at one time is going to be very hard. I imagine from Software loves to make female characters that are ridiculously hard for no reason. And I imagine this one is going to be no different. But then we move on to the fan favorite scene in this trailer. There he is. Artorius is back, baby. How are you going to make a game like Night Rain that brings back Dark Souls bosses and leave out the most important one? So, it was inevitable that Artorius would make a return. And I really hope they beefed him up. If they just ported him over one to one from the base game, he’s going to be a little too easy. So, I really hope we’re finding an evolved Arttorius here. And given that we already see a new grab attack that’s reminiscent of his intro cutscene, I imagine that’s going to be the case. Genuinely, I hope they made him the hardest fight in the game. It’s only right. Then, we move on to the final shot of the trailer. the dreg lord, our second night lord of the DLC. And there’s a lot to unpack here. First of all, this is very fitting of the description we read that described him as an amalgamation of souls. And his arena looks like a sort of hell with weapons and barricades evoking souls fallen in battle. But let’s zoom in and take a look at him the little we can. So, he does look to be some sort of dragon. We can see wings on his back and a sharp jaw like a dragon would have. We can see him holding this sort of scythe looking thing while resting his left hand on the ground. And I don’t know if I’m just not seeing it right, but it does look like he’s missing his left leg, which might be a little too close to Bale, but maybe I’m just not seeing it right. And he has this skeletal figure covered all over in bones. But let me just say, the skybox, the background image back there might be the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. Also, notice the red bubbles on the ground. The color reminds me of the Rancor Souls from Reichards Arena. And given what we know about the Dre Lord, I could see them tying in that bit of lore. And that is where our trailer ends. But let me give a few thoughts real quick about this DLC in general. First off, only two Night Lords is a bit disappointing. I was expecting at least three, but I imagine they are going to get Everdark versions down the line. So that’s a way they can easily evolve the fights and make things feel fresh. Also, we are still stuck on the same Limvel map. However, it looks like we’re getting many new POIs, and if there’s enough, then the map could feel entirely fresh. So, I hope that’s the case. Now, the final thing. Why did they have to release it the same day as Metroid Prime 4? Come on now. I’ve been waiting almost 20 years for Prime 4, and now I’m going to have to put it on hold to grind out Night Reigns DLC. That’s tough, man. That’s really tough. But anyway, Forsaken Hollows looks absolutely sick. This was a really dope trailer. Y’all let me know what you think down in the comments section below. Did you notice some other details that I missed? If you did, be sure to let us know that, too. Either way, though, if you enjoyed today’s video, be sure to leave a like on it and subscribe if you’re new around here. And I will catch you in the next one.
