S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 – DLC, Unreal Engine 5.5.4 Updates & PS5 Performance Great News!

Big Stalker 2 news, and this actually changes
everything. The first Heart of Chornobyl DLC is officially coming next year, and Zakhar Bocharov
just confirmed that a new update with fresh quests is “very close.” I’ve also found a PS5 performance
breakdown that completely contradicts some of the doom-and-gloom reviews. Let’s get into it.
Zakhar was asked about the roadmap, the Unreal Engine 5 upgrade, and when it’s dropping.
His answer: upgrading UE5 is a huge job, so they aren’t giving dates yet.
It will deliver major optimisation, but they’ll share timing once it’s locked in.
For now, update 1.7 is already live and delivers a big performance boost. If you
missed my breakdown, check my last video. As for the new missions listed on
the roadmap, Zakhar kept it simple: the update is “quite close,” and saying
more would basically spoil the content. This matches what I reported back
in early October: the Unreal Engine upgrade is suspected to be pushed to 2026,
expected around February, alongside the first DLC expansion. With Zakhar confirming new
missions and saying the update is almost ready, I’m honestly expecting both the UE upgrade and the
DLC in Q1 2026. And judging by how he dodged the multiplayer question… yeah, I wouldn’t be shocked
if multiplayer slips past 2026 or gets axed. Now, reviews. Push Square says “make sure
you’re on version 1.7,” but reviewers literally received 1.7 as their build. And GamingBolt…
I don’t know what that was in the PS5 review, with the gameplay, holy shit and script. I’m
not trying to drag anyone down, but at least play more than two hours. Some of what you
are saying is just bullshit ChatGPT nonsense, talking like you are William Shakespeare or
something.” I even reached out to help them with Stalker videos, but I doubt I’ll hear back now.
Anyway, after my rant on the bigger channels, I want you to give this smaller channel some
love. My PS5 review said the game runs at 60 FPS, except in dense hub zones. Sober Plays confirmed
almost exactly that. Slight drops in hubs, but a steady 60 FPS in the open world on PS5
Pro, and even the base PS5 is holding firm. Their video is linked below. Drop them a hello.
It’s in Portuguese, but easy to follow. Nice work, Sober Plays I have linked you in this video.
The following hotfix is expected very soon. When I get details from GSC, I’ll post a quick
update, even if it’s later today. Subscribe, and if you missed yesterday’s
coverage, the video is on screen now.
