Silksong Sea of Sorrow DLC coming in 2026 (& more news from Team Cherry)

Hello there, fellow fans of Silkong. Team Cherry just casually dropped its first DLC reveal, and it’s called Sea of Sorrow. And somehow, after everything, Team Cherry still had more announcements ready. Obviously, the major highlight in their year-end blog post is that development for Silkong’s first major expansion is well underway and will be releasing next year. So, let me summarize what we know so far. It’s a nautical themed expansion, looking kind of lifebloodesque in the trailer, I must say. It’s free. There’s going to be new areas, new bosses, new tools, and Hornet’s journey is going to be continuing beyond the base game, whatever that means. The YouTube description specifically says, “Voyage across and beneath the saltstricken seas in this thrilling expansion,” which is just very exciting if you ask me. And at least this time, they said, “Expect additional info shortly before Hollow Night Silkong Sea of Sorrow releases,” adding the shortly before so we don’t go too crazy. They also revealed that Silkong has officially passed 7 million purchases with millions more players through Game Pass, which is genuinely wild. I am so happy for them and for us. Team Cherry also mentioned seeing fan art, mods, unexpected strategies, and the way players have supported each other through the game’s difficulty. Just lovely, lovely communication that we’ve been missing all this time. And as if that wasn’t enough, Team Cherry have also announced that they’re working on a Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Hollow Knight, which is going to include higher frame rate modes, higher resolutions, and additional graphical effects. And just like with the Silkong upgrades, if you already own Hollow Knight on Switch, the upgrade will be free. And on top of that, all versions of the original Hollow Knight are getting updates. PC players can already test them via the public beta on Steam and GG. that includes full 1610 and 219 ultrawide support, which Steam Deck and ultrawide monitor players have been asking for for forever. And finally, because apparently this post needed one more thing, Team Cherry revealed a brand new series of Silkong minifigurines featuring Hornet and other key characters. Shurmer is in there made in collaboration with Fan Gamer. They’re available for pre-order right now alongside other Silkong merch. Uh, Team Cherry ends their blog post by saying they’ve got even more planned for 2026 that they’re keeping under wraps for now. Uh, but right at this moment, they’re going to be taking a short break for the holidays. Oh, how exciting. I would love to sit here and just kind of go through that very short trailer frame by frame. But I I jumped out of bed for this. This is too much information. I literally ripped out my my retainer so you wouldn’t have to hear it whilst I’m speaking. I’m just so excited, guys. Oh, this is We’ve been eating good this year. Thanks everyone for listening and I’ll see you in the next
