An Educated Silksong DLC Trailer Annalysis | Sea of Sorrow
Okay. Um, yeah, let's let's break this down. All right. I guess we're going frame by frame on this, right? And I am immediately confused. Okay. So, my I didn't get to get my DLC speculation video out on time. In fact, I got no videos out on time. I predicted Faroon Bay coming back. That is 100% what this is. There's not really a question about that. I don't think it'll definitely be one of the locations and probably where we let the boat off uh because of some ACMI screenshots. I think this is a boat. I think that's what this is. But does this not give like sail vi I don't know. I honestly don't know what I'm talking about that. But like it could also just be the the dock. I don't know. Hold on. Oh. Oh. Oh. It's holding the boat, isn't it? The ropes leading to these. It's probably like holding the boat. >> This is really interesting. I don't know what this is. So there's some candles. The background has like these pillars. This is really interesting though, this being covered cuz we saw something similar to this in um in in bone grave. It could be cargo. That's not that's not a bad guess. I was thinking about the uh the body in bone grave. I don't think it's a body though. There are these it's vaguely bugshaped. There are also these pearl things, these uh beads. It is also surrounded by candles, which is what it is in like bone grave. So, this is actually really interesting, the candles, because the candles definitely makes it a sort of like ritual spot as opposed to like cargo. I feel like the beads are very reminiscent of like Shakra's Master, but I and we do know Shakra's Master is in Bowwater nearing Putrified Ducks, which is close to Farland Bay. I don't think this is Shakra's master, but these beads are reminiscent vaguely, but we don't really get to see enough to like tell. The background's interesting, too. The pillars. Where do we see these pillars in the game? We see them in putrified ducks. See, these are the putrified ducks pillars, are they not? There are also ones that look just like this in um Blasted Steps. The interesting part about that is that it also is storming here. I think it's Putrified Ducks, though. The Putrified Ducks ones don't exactly look like this. They look more like Jagged, I feel like. But I do think this bears the most resemblance to like Bone Grave, I think. Now, there's a lot here. Okay. Okay. So, this is 100% the lab because on the old ACMI maps on um Putrified Ducks and at this point I actually think Putrified Ducks is probably downsized from what it is now because those ACMI screenshots were quite a while ago. The lab didn't really make it like too much past. But this is definitely the lab from uh Ari's sketchbook. Again, I really thought this was scrapped because we have Xyodle or whatever his name is in Wormways and I just thought that was kind of it, right? That they had kind of downsized, maybe not downsized, but uh kind of reduced the scope of the lab to be just part of Wormways. I am so excited that that is not the case. In my DLC breakdown, I talked about how this was part of um Faroon Bay, but I thought it would be moved to Wormways cuz I thought that just made more sense cuz I was kind of anticipating, you know, we we were anticipating a lifeblood DLC. I don't think we're getting a lifeblood DLC anymore because our lifeblood content is coming here. I don't think there's going to be any more. It's a little bit much, right? So, here's what I think the new dynamic's going to be over here. They're probably going to call it lifeblood in this lab. this lifeblood lab over there. Xylott probably thinks he's the first one to find lifeblood. So, he calls it plasmium or this is somewhere he was sent from. Now, what I think that this is I could very well see this being this. Okay, this to me gives such strong uh like what's it called? Queen of the sea. Like dead cells queen of the sea where like this could definitely be like a lighthouse of sorts. Like this could be like the main goal, you know, like all the islands, whatever they end up being, could be illuminated by this lifeblood spire. Yeah. So you just have like in the background of every area, you just have like this lifeblood spire with like all the lightning striking cuz Yeah. Yeah. play out. That 100% confirms this is absolutely the lab. Um I don't really know what the hell striking lifeblood with electricity does. I guess it could just be to keep the place on. I do actually think that there is something actually very interesting to talk about here. >> It's definitely AI generated. I What really sticks out to me though, that's barnacle, right? That's barnacle town or barnacle area. I think this hints that the barnacle area is coming back probably with an increased scope andor it's been turned into like an island. We're definitely getting barnacle town. Oh, we probably aren't getting like the uh the other town. This is Barnacles though. This looks just like the like old barnacle stuff. Sea of sorrow. Sea of sorrow is an interesting name. I guess there's something to gather from that cuz who's sorrowful? Assuming that this whole thing were to revolve around the lifeblood spire. It is interesting that the lifeblood spire is cracked open, which could imply it's maybe abandoned and or the whoever's in there is not having a good time. They could be sorrowful is what I'm saying, thus making this some sort of sea of sorrow. Overall, I'm incredibly excited about the vibes of this. Again, this gives like exact like shipwreck Dead Cells vibes, which is good. This isn't the former half of 2026. If this was something that they've been working on for years, which was my reasoning for why I thought that the City of Steel was going to be first, but if they've been working on this for years, judging off the ACI maps, assuming that the dates are accurate, we know some of them aren't. Some of them are just way too whack to be accurate. This would be in like the former half of 2026. No exact date tells me it's not like in the next month or two or anything. It better not come out in January. I've got 1.4.5 to to to deal with. And then freefor-all players because again, they're just cool like that. I wouldn't have blamed them at all um to charge for it. It's some things especially of of high quality definitely deserve it. He pl Okay, so Ari here has sketched an entire Silkong map and out of all the locations to get a name, Lifeblood Spire is one of them and it's huge. Uh Silkong expansion, Hollow Night refresh, I don't think it really needs it. I'm very confused about the Switch 2 version. I guess what they're going to do is I'm pretty sure Silkong has an uncapped uh frame rate and uh I'm assuming they're just going to bring that over, right? So, yeah. Yeah. No, this was one of the things that I did speculate on. I believe I did put it first. Let me actually look though. Like maybe not. Yeah. So, I I expected first DLC was going to be uh City of Steel, but I guess not. And then uh second, Faroom Bay. I am a little bit surprised that we got Faroom Bay so early because there's no way that this is anything else. As with Silong, players who own a copy of Hollow Night on Nintendo Switch will be able to download the new Nintendo Switch edition for free when it launches in 2026. Wait, but didn't they not allow people to do that with like uh Tears of the Kingdom and stuff? Didn't they have to like reby it? We'll be updating all versions of the original game for current platforms, adding fe features and bug and fixing bugs. Features? What features would they add? It's uh nothing major. I'm sure they just mean like settings features. I don't think they mean anything uh gameplay related. Oh, okay. So, they already have everything listed. So, yeah, definitely not any like gameplay stuff. Uh added support. Game now pauses while in inventory menus. Wait, that's Is that No, no. Nothing's ever coming to Switch. Game now pauses while in inventory menus. You know what else that's going to fix? That um that invincibility glitch. That's going to fix that glitch. Actually, that was like a speedrunning thing though. Reduced gray print zot stagger bounce height. Wait, that's actually huge. No, I need this. I need this on on Switch. that why didn't they just remove his contact damage when staggered? You didn't have to reduce his his freaking bounce height. You could have just made him not do damage and then that would have fixed everything, right? Updated Sly's great slash collider to closer match visual. Oh my god, that's also huge. His great slash is it will just it will not hit you, but it will hit you. These are like good changes. Oh my god. So, Lubra's blessing now deactivates after reaching Max Soul. Map panning is now smoother. Was it that much smoother in Silk Song? I don't I guess I just didn't notice. See, cuz whenever they added the Silk song to Silk Song, I was like, "Oh my god." See, it goes away once you reach full silk. It's like that's a lot of stuff. Especially the Great Slash with Sly in the Salubra thing. I mean, the Great Princess stagger bounce height was annoying because you were basically guaranteed hit if he staggered while you're pogoing him, but the other two things are actually like necessities. The the Great Slash Collider is incredibly inconsistent on Sly's Great Slash, so fixing that just makes him a better boss. And Sibra's blessing, that's just something that should have always been part of it. As for the So, oh no, that's not all. These are cool. These are cool. For sure. For sure. For sure. Hold on. The shaka one though.
We’ve already gotten our first Silksong DLC announcement after only 3 months. Really excited, I didn’t get my DLC speculation video out yet, but in it I was VERY EXCITED for the prospect of Pharloom Bay, so I am a happy man. That Shakra too, sheesh, Team Cherry tryna make me act up.
