Out of all the Mario sports franchises to get the cold shoulder from Nintendo, why did it have to be the only one I consider to be on par with Strikers?

    1. My guess Is that ’cause baseball Is an american only sport the Sales were super low outside of america

    2. Because I think they’re scared it will not be popular outside of the US and Japan because here in Europe for example baseball isn’t that popular

Because the main developer who made them (Bandai Namco) is likely too busy with other Nintendo Projects to really care about developing a new Baseball game

    4. It’s such a bummer they never made another. My cousin and I used to play this game for hours and hours. Still do from time to time if we’re near a GameCube.

      Wish they made another!

    5. Because unlike Strikers where the 11 man soccer team becomes a five man team… you can’t get rid of baseball positions as easily. So I need to have a leagues’ worth of teams. And each team requires about 9 models.

Because we haven’t had a new one since Wii/Gamecube era (not counting Sports Superstars): we can recycle as little of the assets and engine as possible compared to Tennis and Golf. Especially Tennis, which even had a Wii U offering.

It’s just cheaper and easier to do “Not Baseball”.

Hell, the base of Strikers could be changed to a Hockey or Basketball much easier.

    6. Namco is just doing other shit probably. I think we’ll see it soon as baseball grows more in popularity again.
