Hey guys, I just got this 2Tb SSD for Christmas, so far it's working fine. My friend told me today that I need a heatsink for this, but I already see a very slim heatsink on it. Has anybody used this SSD with PS5 before?
Do I need to get a thicker heatsink for it? The manufacturer does list it as PS5-compatible, so I’m wondering if I can just use it since everything is fine so far or if there are any issues I should be aware of. (KLEVV CRAS C925G 2TB)

It’ll work without it, but having a heatsink will certainly help with longevity/thermal throttling. SSD heatsinks are very cheap so no reason not to get one.
Sony didn’t list a heat sink as a requirement because they thought it would be a good gag.
Make sure to keep the cover on it so it has proper airflow
Not needed, but does help keep the heat down.
I got a 2tb from my then girlfriend; it was one without a heatsink, read online that it can be fine without one.
However one week in, I had noticed my PS5 getting a littler hotter after a long gaming session, so I went on Amazon and got a heat sink for an extra £20.
It hasn’t gotten to them temps since, my thoughts were I’d rather pay £20 now, than £600 for a new pro.
Perhaps more importantly, did you screw it down tight without the washer underneath? That’s some tech gore.
Definitely would recommend a heat sink if you’d like to keep your system working. They sell them cheap on Amazon
There’s ssd cards with built in heatsink and the price depends on the product
You need the spacer below the ssd where you screw it in. It’s flexing too much as it is right now.
No it doesn’t let it burn and let the fire consume your ps5 and your whole house /s
The need for a heatsink highly depends on your gaming habbits and even the titles you play.
Regardless, I don’t think you’d be able to close that with a regular SSD heatsink.
I do believe the SSD already has it’s own tiny heatsink yes.
better safe than sorry.
Needs a new screw, stripped pretty badly.
no ssd needs a heatsink

I went all out on my heatsink lol…
