My Xbox one controller is 11 years old too and has received constant play the entire time over two consoles and despite a little bit of wear on the sticks looks brand new, if you don’t chew on your controller they tend to last longer.

The sticks can go weak over time. I remember we had the community controller when I was at uni. Swapped it for a madcatz one with hard plastic sticks. Held up much better.
