    1. Dry-Membership3867 on

I know that a couple of the ones here closed not due to poor sales but due to leases being up and prices going up.

    2. Made the switch to digital years and years ago. The only thing keeping me in GameStop was the magazine subscription which I LOVED, and th monthly coupon we used religiously for figures. They took the magazine away, which meant no real reason to subscribe for the coupons.

    3. Ours in NC is packed every day. Always three employees on staff. Doubt they’ll close here. We have so many cosplayers and tech people here. Line down the block every Friday morning for Pokemon cards.

Edit so I looked at the list. Two stores in my city are closing. They are in rougher low income areas. One is in a mall that pretty much became abandoned a decade ago . Sad because I bought dark souls 2 there

    4. Oddly weird that a profitable business with $9B in cash and no debt has numerous hit pieces being posted across subs. The company is transitioning. It’s a great thing. And if you know about private equity then you know why GameStop are closing stores that are up for renewal on leases.

    5. They closed the GameStop by me last year. When I checked to see where the next one was, it was 20 miles away from me.

I didn’t like GS but it was good to have in the area if I happen to see a sale from them. But it didn’t help that they were in the same shopping area as a Walmart.

    6. Well, looks like all of the ones near me are closing. Luckily there are a couple of independent shops nearby.

    7. The one by me is closing but it was in a tiny spot in a side hall of the mall and the shelves were half empty all the time anyway so no huge loss tbh

    8. Library near me has games to rent, so I’ll continue doing that. Hopefully Dragon’s Dogma 2 is available.
