hi all, I have bought a bottom screen for my 3ds xl from ali express and have replaced my old screen with a new one. When i try to turn it on, it will make a pop noise.
i put my old screen back on, and it works as it did before. I was replacing it because it has vertical lines on the screen as shown.
after digging around a bit, I believe the culprit is the backlight cable here. The smaller ribbon cable.
I dont think the vertical lines are fixable unless someone has suggestions on it or the backlight ribbon. the copper pads look fine, but there is a bent on it that most likely is the probable cause.
thought I would share this if others have a similar issue

Is this the same pattern and issue as your old screen? If it’s the same as the old one it’s probably the connection on the board side.
I think you just got a dud bottom screen. I’d return that ASAP and get you a proper bottom screen. I don’t think the cables have anything to do with those lines on the screen
