I recently went to a card show and picked up Pokémon X. After the short intro, I chose my language and this screen shows up. I have tried cleaning the game and the 3DS game slot, but this message keeps popping up. Has anyone had this issue, and if so is there a way to fix it? Thank you for any help you can provide!

Could possibly be that the game or something inside it died. My copy of Smash 4 randomly died at some point. The save data was intact and able to be extracted, but the game won’t boot and crashes immediately. It was bought brand new at GameStop at launch and lived in my 3DS or in a case.
That happened to me with Pokémon Platinum too, I blew on the game and the Nintendo a few times, and it finally worked. Maybe the chip wasn’t connecting right.
