This is a French TV show brodcast on France 2 (one of the main state channels) during the late 90's. It would mainly broadcast cartoons and children's shows (including but not limited to the DKC show) alongside intermissions featuring the Kongs from the show.
It's pretty crazy because while the characters are mostly the same ones from the show, most of the skits put them in the real world (or TV show/ad parodies) and had them act wildly out of character. A lot of it feels like a fever dream honestly and given how protective Nintendo is of their IP nowadays, I'm confused how this way ever greenlit. Especially since this was after the Mario live-action movie, CDi Zelda etc. so you'd think they would be careful, and yet.
Notable moments for those who don't understand French (auto-subtitles kinda work but not so great):
-French popstar Pascal Obispo giving a performance as DK. (like it's DK on screen but Funky introduces him as Obispo, like they are the same person? Idk.)
-Pointless gags about flipflops just because tong (flipflop) rhymes with Kong. The theme song is about flipflops for some reason but there was also a lottery in which you could win flipflops.
-Fat jokes. A notable one is the Buffy parody "Bouffy contre les vampires" where Candy gets thicc thighs by eating the vampires.
-Casper the Friendly Ghost and Thalassa (underwater exploration show) parodies with both involving DK getting drunk as hell.
-Misogynistic Funky Kong getting in an argument with a driver, who turns out to be… Candy as a Corsican stereotype.
-Lots of decapitation gags all around. Including a weirdly gruesome zombie race between DK, Funky and Candy losing limbs and heads as they run.
-DK hitting on Candy at a Parisian restaurant (in a very vulgar fashion) and strongly implying he wants to have intercourse with her.
