I've been trying to do this part of the tutorial for an hour and I can't. I don't know if it's because I'm not doing what it asks correctly, because I'm holding R and moving the analog stick in the opposite direction of the ghost.

Have you caught any of the ghosts?
Are you using the flashlight to stun the ghosts before trying to suck them? Turn the flashlight off, then shine it at them after they appear
