Metroid Prime 4 was Tanabe’s final game for Nintendo

Probably took a lot out of him with all the setbacks involved.

I’m a little… lost, figuring out the logic behind going into a game, knowing it’s probably your last and might not even get a sequel, and trying to make it the start of a ‘saga’.
But that does explain why Sylux’s overall presence felt so half-assed and unsatisfying, cuz they looked at 10 years of cliffhanger tags and thought ‘y’know what this guy’s story needs? More build-up.’
Still, last minute misgivings with an otherwise good game hardly tarnishes a solid legacy, this is a sad loss for Nintendo for sure.

maybe he might re-surface in the meantime with an indie title here and there?

Definitely don’t mind new guy at the helm for future Prime games (if we ever get any more)

Thank Christ, he won’t be missed.
And before anyone starts shitting on me, this guy killed two of Nintendo’s best series (both Prime and Paper Mario, although the latter is in more of a coma), so there’s nothing to be sad about

The man had a tremendous resume at Nintendo. Good for him.
