Hi all,
Hoping to see if anyone knows what the issue is with my partners 3DS?
She said it was fine up until today when the top screen started glitching out. Please see the video attached.
She has had it since new, so about 10 years now I believe.
Is this a major issue and is it easily fixable? Or is she better off buying another one second hand.
I know she would rather fix it if possible, due to the attachment to the device.

Thats not a screen issue, but rather a corrupted system file. If the system is modded try to reflash the nand (storage) and make a backup. But im pretty sure the nand might be dying (This happened to other people as well, with the rest of the system following right after, until the console didnt start up correctly). Not an easy fix, if the storage is a seperate chip, then replacement is feasable, but difficult. I do not reccomend to use the system as is. Id mod it now and make a nand dump while its still possible.
