A few years ago, I came across a video listing obscure Zelda theories, and one of those theories suggested that Talon was actually Mario. According to the theory, Talon is Mario after he retired from being a hero. I thought it was pretty cool. Now, throughout the Zelda series, there are many Talons and Malons (OoT, TMC, FSA, Oracle Games), but there are two versions of Talon that you could argue are Mario.
In Ocarina of Time, there’s an Easter egg in Hyrule Castle with portraits of Mario characters, suggesting that Mario has been to Hyrule. What if he never left? Talon and Malon both wear Bowser pendants, which is unique to them. Considering how important jewelry is in the Zelda series, this seems significant and could be a clue to Talon’s true identity.
The second Talon, from the Oracle games, bears an even stronger resemblance to Mario. He even has a red "M" on his hat, and unlike the Ocarina Talon, the Oracle Talon is actually human. In ALttP theres even a portrait of Mario. Either way, Talon could be Mario, which would mean that Malon is Mario’s daughter.
