I’ve been a long-time PlayStation user. I bought a PS5 about two years ago, and I still enjoy it. However, lately Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming genuinely impressed me, so I decided to put my money into an Xbox Series S as a secondary console.
Loving it so far — compact, quiet, fits anywhere. I mainly play Fortnite at 120 FPS, feels just as smooth as PS5. DualSense is still the better controller IMO, but the Xbox controller is solid. Storage is tight, but manageable.
‼️🔴Can I use a normal external HDD (140–160 MB/s) just to store games, then move them back to internal storage when I want to play, and move unused ones back again? (Not playing directly from HDD.)
Cheers 🍻

Yes you can use any external SSD or HHD drive to store games.
You can also play old game (non series x|s optimized) directly from these game drives.
But through only NVME storage expansion card you can play latest games directly.
Yes, any external USB 3.0 HDD drive will work to store your games. You can store your Series X|S games on that to copy them over to the SSD as needed, and Xbox One games & older will play directly of it.
Enjoy your new system! Glad you’re having fun.
