The paint on my original back shell started shipping at the edge, and I put on a TPU case to prevent it. Really disliked using it though, so I tried an aftermarket replacement I was struggling to get it to fit on the device though, so I had it in a drawer for ages. Just gave it another chance and it actually fits perfectly.
Couldn't be happier to use it without the TPU case again. The front plate is still the original one.
Btw this thing has no right to be so awesome. The 3D on the New XL model is so immersive and simply amazing with some games, for example Fire Emblem Echoes. As I recently said I prefer this to the regular New 3DS.

what did you dislike about the tpu case tho ? ive heard people say its actually nicer with , i also prefer the new xl not because i dont have the base model but because the 3d is more immersive and the bigger screen is better cause i dont have to glue the screen to ny face to see small details , good job for that reshell 👍
