Can’t wait for square to come out and say it underperformed anyway lol

Key card haters just fell to their knees.
Other companies are probably looking at this and thinking they want a piece of the pie that is the Japanese market

Honestly pretty good for a 5 year old game. On par with other non Nintendo big releases not named Dragon Quest or Momotaro Densetsu

Just as a comparison, that’s a better start than on the PS5:
[PS5] Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade (New Price Version) (Square Enix, 12/07/23) – 14,085 (New)

Very good opening for such a late port

Not charging full price for a port probably helped

It’s very cheap and I would have bought a copy if I could get it physically. I’m surprised the sales are so low even being keycard only.

This is just physical sales, right? Like digital would be considerably higher probably?

Aside from being a good game and a remake of a beloved classic that made RPGs mainstream on consoles, they hit the right price point. The loudest Switch critics are vocal about performance. But aside from Nintendo first party releases, I think the quieter part of the Switch 2 user base is fine with giving up 60 fps in exchange for portability and a solid 30 fps with high resolution, as long as they aren’t getting charged $70 for it. $40 is a good price for this game. The performance is solid. The game is fun.

Is this good?

Some people on GameFAQs and BGChartz are already spinning these results and saying that it bombed in Japan, at least in the forums. I don’t know what to think.

Good for Square Enix and Nintendo. What more could you want in gaming?
(I mean I guess the bad parts of Steam could vanish into the 14th dimension and stop being annoying, but eh, two for three ain’t bad)

I was surprized the game actually was smooth 99% of time. Only a few times when you use like a million action commande in a row there was slight camera disturbance but otherwise I am impressed.
Game Freak should just learn from Monolith Soft and Square Enix at this point lol. Pokemon could get out so damn much out of their games
