The blue/white/black color combo, the minimalistic yet sleek console designs. It just seems like PS was really hitting their stride during the “PS3 Comeback Era.” I'm not sure how exactly to describe it, but man…something about this whole era was just so cool, to me at least.

It’s a big part of why PS4 re-established them as the leader I feel. This picture also make me think about how much personality the consoles had. The menu sounds, music, interface all before you ever start a game. PS5 is great but the experience is so sterile, even with the legacy themes.
I know exactly what you mean, it was simple but focused with their marketing and branding. PlayStation has coasted for a decade plus since then with their marketing and branding, because of Xbox’s decline. They tried harder when they had some form of direct competition.
Both PlayStation and Nintendo know they have their audiences, and unfortunately know they don’t have to try hard anymore.
the early years of the ps4 were something else. 2014 era gaming just makes me insanely nostalgic.
Had the ps3 for a long while even after the ps4 came out. So i have many fond memories with it. And i always prefferd its background and vibe more over the ps3.

No I totally get what you mean, it’s not my favourite era by any stretch but it was just so sleek and game centric, it felt like it really appealed to gamers without being obnoxious and garish. It also helped that it was just a great time for the company (their handling of the vita aside) pushing some of the greatest games of all time while taking advantage of the constant mistakes Microsoft made latter in the 360’s life, following a disastrous launch it really is one of the most impressive turn arounds in gaming history
