I love my 3DS to death and have had it since 2017. I have always wanted to mod it since it seems so fun and cool, but I keep hearing horror stories about how you can accidentally “Brick it” where it becomes dormant or smth. I am in no way super techy and don’t trust myself with any tutorials or anything, plus I feel like if I successfully mod it I’ll have no idea how to like add anything. Do you guys have any amazing tutorials or personal tips on how to do this. I need so much reassurance to do this please bro.

[This guide](https://3ds.hacks.guide/) will forever be the one people recommend the most as it’s constantly updated and will never be outdated! I know it can be scary to mod something for the first time but don’t worry the 3ds modding scene is very safe and you’d have to try very hard to actually brick the things with how well it’s put together! Part of the process in the guide is backing up your nand and by doing this if something does ever happen to go wrong there’s a very high chance it’ll be fixable with that backup! Good luck!!

as long as you follow this exactly word for word, there’s a 0% chance you brick your system
It’s super easy!! There is one ‘scary’ part you can mess up but it’s super quick and just one step. I accidentally messed it up before as well and luckily, my console wasn’t bricked! (Although I would recommend you not to push your luck). I recommend you to set your console to english (if it isn’t already) so the names of settings and stuff matches the guide and you don’t have to translate these things yourself (although there are pictures of what to click for important steps)
I literally just modded my daughters N3dsXL Galaxy and following the previously mentioned guide worked perfectly.

If you have another 3ds, you could try modding that if you don’t want to mod the old one
