I want to get Xbox One instead of 500$ 4k blu-ray player becuase i heard that it works really good and works with every region blu ray.
Im not sure if its a good idea because my firend told me that there is no way it will work and that it does not in fact read all regions.
I want opinion from someone who actually uses Xbox One or knows for sure if it will do the job

Base Xbox one won’t do 4k. Everything above that will. Except series s actually

The original Xbox One does not have a 4K BluRay player. Just a regular BluRay drive.
The Xbox One S, Xbox One X, and Xbox Series X have 4K BluRay players, but they are not region-free. It should also be noted that while they *are* 4K BluRay players, they are not fantastic ones. They’ll get the job done, but there are much better standalone 4K BluRay players if your focus is quality.
A standard Xbox One cannot play 4K Blu-rays, only HD Blu-rays. But the Xbox One S and X are able to play 4K discs.
Update: Im done with this, i researched everything and i have come to conclusion that i wont find any device that can play 4k blu-rays and is region-free in my country
