I’m surprised this subreddit has more members than the Wii one.

    1. The Wii released in 2006, before Reddit was popular.

The Wii U released in 2012, after Reddit started to be popular.

Also I’d say about 90% of this sub’s members joined over 10 years ago due to hype

Because, the Wii U is for cool dudes who are cool and have hundreds of girlfriends!

The Wii was more beloved and popular than the Wii U, so there is not as much of a need for it to have its own dedicated fan space. Hence not as many people will go to its dedicated fan space.

    4. Backwards compatibility helps, more active users here to help. GameFAQs always been the same way when its comes to multi-platform games

    5. I’ll add to the “before and after reddit”. I got all my Wii community activity by the GameFAQs forums. I stopped b/c the various forums slowed and died out. As such I have 10 years XP being active for the Wii. As I am now here on reddit, and seeing the WiiU more active than the Wii I dont have a huge desire to be in the Wii one. Though I probably should since I have a butt load of Wii hidden gem/recommends lists. (Same with the DS).

    6. That’s because the wii u is the best console that ever came out, unlike the wii. I mean, every household has a wii u
