Hey folks, I came across a pattern on Steam that I haven’t seen before and wanted to ask if I am right or if there’s something I’m misunderstanding
Here are the facts I noticed:
• 18 new games from the same publisher were released on the same day (27 Nov 2025)
• Each title has ~1100+ total reviews
• Roughly ~800 of those reviews appeared within the January on each game
• The review velocity and distribution looks very similar across all titles
Here’s the Steam search link for the publisher I’m talking about:
https://store.steampowered.com/search/?publisher=SmoGames%20Studio
I’m not accusing anyone of wrongdoing – just trying to understand whether this kind of pattern has been seen before or is permitted under Steam’s review system
If you know a better place to discuss this, I’d appreciate the suggestion

It looks very much like some sort of review manipulation.
Just look at the negative reviews for this racing game: [https://store.steampowered.com/app/4142870/Speed_Liner/](https://store.steampowered.com/app/4142870/Speed_Liner/)

In this screenshot I shared:
6 reviews seem to be about FPS/Multiplayer games. For a single player racing game.
1 review is mad at MS for requiring an xbox login for a non MS single player racing game…
And that’s just for one game. It looks like they copy/pasted real reviews from other games (like CS2).
Looking at some of them on SteamDB, it appears they were originally on sale for like $1.
So yeah, to me it smells like some asset flipping cash grab manipulation type bullshit.
