New to the 3DS world and recently got this 3DS xl for free. Is the damage on the top screen fixable in any way or does it 100% need a replacement? Not very familiar and wanted to get other people’s experience before finding a local repair shop to work on it. Love this community and hope to post again when I get it fixed and cleaned.

If this is screen yellowing, it’s pretty aggressive. Some people have been successful in reversing yellowing by “baking” their screens (leaving them on a full white screen at max brightness for an extended period of time), however if this is yellowing I doubt baking would help much. Are you sure it isn’t just the screen lens that’s dirty? If I were you I’d remove the lens to see if that’s what it is. And if it’s not the lens you will almost certainly have to replace the screen anyways so you don’t have anything to lose taking off the lens, imo.
