While there are a few sprites in here for Pokemon that simply didn’t make the cut, it’s clear that a lot of these sprites were intended for Pokemon that did make it to the final release just with a different design. See how many you recognize from the sheets!

I love how chikorita is perfectly fine, Meganium is perfectly fine, but Bayleaf was prototyped as some weird moth creature like what was their thought process behind that 😭
