On my previous review, I've compared the performance of Sandisk, Lexar, and Samsung cards. I've now recently purchased PNY's latest 1TB chip to put it to the test.

Moving MKW between Switch 2 and MicroSD EX: [Speeds calculated using Data Transfer Calculator]

Brand MicroSD EX -> Internal SSD Read Speed Internal SSD -> MicroSD EX Write Speed
    PNY (1TB) 3:50 95.2 MB/s 3:33 102.82 MB/s
    Sandisk (512GB) 4:02 90.5 MB/s 3:30 104.3 MB/s
    Lexar (1TB) 3:52 94.4 MB/s 5:16 69.3 MB/s
    Samsung (256GB) 3:47 96.5 MB/s 5:00 73 MB/s

MKW boot up times from Menu (1st time booting up NOT from sleep mode):
    – Internal storage: 15.53s
    PNY: 17.22s
    – SanDisk: 17.20s
    – Lexar: 20.35s
    – Samsung: 19.75s

Overall, it seems that PNY's latest 1TB MicroSD Express card excels in both WRITE and READ speeds and is possibly the best performing 1TB MicroSD express card right now though I would caution that the price of $200 is no small cost. However, with the current economic landscape for DRAM, there's a chance now's the time to upgrade before prices inevitably rise up for memory.

    1. If these results are correct that’s extremely slow for a MicroSD Express, those read speeds are MicroSD level.
