I gave up on this controller long ago, but then I decided to pull it out of my drawer, and lo and behold the rubber has now completely separated instead of just bubbling up. Not my first post on this controller. This thing is an overpriced piece of crap. Within the first year I had that rubber bubbling off and a broken bumper button. I used a warranty process through Microsoft to get a new one and I was getting nowhere. During that process the warranty expired and I was stuck with this piece of junk. Don't buy these. I'm an adult and I play single player RPGs. There's no extreme gaming happening here.

    1. Long gone are the times when Xbox had durable controllers. Now they’re just trash and 3rd party are way better. For instance, Gamesir G7 HE comes with Hall effect sticks, which makes it pretty much impossible to get stick drift.

    2. All my friends’ elites are exactly like this, some of them have had the bumpers go out on their second warranty controller. My Scuf Instict had one back paddle break (unfortunately very common), but it’s still functional, it just rattles if you shake the controller. Other than that it’s been rock solid, no drift, buttons all function, rubber grips seem to be overmolded so they don’t separate, triggers switch from pull to a clicky microswitch instead of just a shorter pull. It’s unfortunate that the outer paddles seem to be the weak point because I love the strong click on the paddle and where they sit on your fingers.

    3. I had one for nearly 2 years. I did have an issue with one of the bumpers but was able to fix that myself. Then the rubber started coming off and getting in the way. I tried a shell swap but the fit was poor causing a bad battery connection.

I ended up getting a Razer Wolverine Pro V3 and never looked back. Bloody brilliant controller if you need additional buttons.

    4. I’ve had two at this point and both look like this. Stick drift, broken Bumper, have/had it all. The quality is crazy trash. I would never buy one ever again.

    5. Had the double bumper problem on my launch one and had it replaced and it’s been good since and that was almost 6 years ago.

3 of these in like 4 or 5 years. Always rubber, then bumbers/stick drift. One had it all. I am currently using an old xbox One controller from like 10 years ago. It still works perfectly. I have heard good things about gamesir tho. Has anyone been using one for over a year and a half with no issues? 🧐
