This might be an issue that's prevalent with many 3DS titles but so far, I've only experienced it with Metal Gear Solid 3D (I only installed homebrew (Luma) on my N2DS yesterday, so haven't played many games yet). Basically, I reach a certain point quite early in the game where the screen fades to black – between the end of a cutscene and before the opening titles are supposed to play – and I am prompted to save the game. At this point, the game will crash when I select an input.
I've ensured it isn't related to the CFW itself by disabling overclock entirely. When I do this, the game chugs along with all the performance issues I was hoping to avoid, but it does let me save and continues on as normal. This tells me it definitely relates to the overclocking rather than a system-wide issue. I should also note I followed the 3DHacks guide for Luma installation EXACTLY – using the MSET9 method.
I'm just a little confused because other posts I've seen on the web tell me that overclocking (Clock + L2) is the best way of playing this game. Until the crashes, I agreed with them! Framerate is noticeably improved in both gameplay and cutscenes. But none of those posts mentioned any instability or crashing when using Luma's overclock feature. I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to avoid the crashes while continuing to overclock for boosted performance?
I've attached a picture of the error message I received. It's a little beyond my troubleshooting skills but any advice or suggestions are appreciated đ
