As the title says, I came across my childhood 3DS again recently and tried to fire it up to the top screen being severely yellowed/dim and the bottom screen not visible at all. Is this something I could fix on my own or is it time to start looking for local repair techs?

      not fully cooked,

if you’re lucky bottom screen being black may be the ribbon cable unseating itself after years sitting in a drawer

top one though, just old panel being an old panel, 3ds being a 3ds is annoying to fix because the ribbon cables are threaded thoughout that hange, if you’ve never fixed a console before i’d advise not starting with this one

    2. Looks like you’ll need replacement screens. It’s a doable repair, but you’ll need patience. There are loads of good YouTube tutorials to help you and walk you through it. Take your time and be EXTREMELY careful of the hinge and the ribbons cables there. Good luck OP.

It’s not too hard fixing the digitizer for the 3ds. Make sure you have the right tools, have pre-watched a good youtuber’s guide and have a good amount of patience, and I’m positive that you can do it! If you don’t feel like you’re confident on doing it yourself, there should be some repair shop out there willing on helping you out.
