    1. Valve are already the same problem with Steam Decks! OLEDs are sold out and the Steam Machine has already been delayed.

    2. Good feel like PS5 hadn’t had much yet

It has some good time left

Waiting a little longer just means the jump from this console to next might actually be something big

    3. I’m totally fine with the PS5 being a long generation, but I fucking hate that this is the reason why

    4. That sucks, but hey at least we can generate a dogshit clip that rips off Cyberpunk gameplay but worse and it only costs an entire rainforest to do it!

    5. PS5 Gen feels like it’s just getting started due to a combination of the pandemic delaying people’s ability to buy the console as well as many cross-generation games (Horizon and Ragnarok were both cross gen in 2022 and many multi-platform games are still cross gen – for example, WWE 2K26 is the first game that is exclusive to current gen consoles, six years in).

A 2029 PS6 release would be fine by me, especially considering that we’ve hit the point of diminishing returns in games (both visually and gameplay wise) and the longer dev cycles for games (we used to have entire trilogies release on one gen, whereas now we are lucky to get one entry of a series in a console gen).

    6. The PS5 is a great console that had it’s chance stolen by scalpers and covid. I’m totally fine giving it more time.
