I agree. This is my mindset with emulation: “If there is no way to make sure I buy the game from an official source, then it is ok to emulate.”

Emulation =/= piracy.
If you own a real copy of TOTK, and ripped it either with a chipped switch or a cartridge dumper and used other software to run your rip, there’s precedent for that being fair use, see Sony VS Connectix and Sony vs Bleem.
However, if you are just downloading roms off the internet that is piracy and has no legal ground to stand on. Ethics are up for personal interpretation.

Emulation doesn’t equal piracy. Switch emulation by itself is legal, if someone is using their copy of the game to play it.
