I hate to say this, but Nintendo fans sometimes bring the jokes and mockey onto ourselves. Seriously, I love Pokemon Leaf Green, but Nintendo is just being greedy.

    1. I mean, yeah, they’re greedy. It’s Nintendo. We know they’re greedy. But I have the money and I love these games, so I’ll buy them. You can mock me all you want, I don’t care.

The old Virtual Console was exactly this, which we’ve repeatedly requested to be returned

Actually the emulation quality was worse, but Nintendo have bothered to used improved versions ever since the NES mini

No, the stupid borders are beside the point. I’m specially referring to how the emulation work at a technical level

    3. I don’t know. Like, Pokemon is not fresh water or heat in the winter. Don’t like it? Don’t buy it. I won’t.

    4. I really don’t think Nintendo have much control or sway on what The Pokemon Company do – If they want to make bank off £16 ROMs they will make bank off £16 ROMs

They are expensive but at least it is nice to have the option to straight up buy games instead of just playing them on NSO (Which many people have requested)

    5. I’m not going to make fun of anyone for spending money on what they want. Pokémon games are fun, and I can think of plenty of reasons–from nostalgia to curiosity to anything else–why someone who doesn’t want to emulate these games themselves would get them. It’s your money, buy what you want.

I completely agree that the price is pretty exorbitant relative to what it is the consumer is getting. Pretty blatant greed on Nintendo’s part, definitely. Or maybe on the Pokémon Company or Game Freak, I really don’t know. But if that’s what people are willing to pay, no amount of criticism on my end is going to fix it, I guess.

Pretending that Nintendo or any company is just magically becoming greedy vs nostalgia goggles past is kinda weird.

They’re a company designed to make profit, not our buddies doing us a favor.

This has Home Support officially announced, which requires man hours to add to a 20 year old game and people need to be paid. Any other work (like the local communications working) also isn’t free. Porting also takes some work and man hours. Designing and creating Ads for this isn’t free. Companies need money to run. Yea they can be greedy, but they still need to turn a profit. You can’t give shit out for free “for like, the culture and vibes.”

      It’s $20, buy it or don’t.

    8. I’m sure they’ll invest the profits into delivering the best main line games they can instead of doing the bare minimum s

Wouldn’t people rather it was acutally purchasable than be on the NSO where its just rent to play?

Also $20 a piece is still a better deal than forking over $150+ for second hand.

    10. Remember when Pokémon fans said that GF (or was it Pokémon Company or Creatures Inc?) is so small and they need money to feed themselves and their families and to keep more quality games coming? Here it is guys!! Spend spend spend!! Use that sympathy to help the apparently helpless so they can make better quality games! Everything helps toward that future, right?!

    11. I am seriously scratching my head over the reactions to this. People complained for years for Nintendo to allow them to purchase the games instead of stream them via NSO. So they got it. And that’s great. But then to complain about the price? $20? That’s not very much. Of course we would all love it if it was cheaper but I wish everything in life was cheaper, honestly. $20 for a game that’s like a 10/10 isn’t bad at all.

    12. I remember picking up my FireRed cartridge years ago on a flea market for €15.

This release being €20 is kind of jarring in that sense. That makes this emulated game release more expensive than second hand cartridges (with obviously dead batteries, I know)

I’m not liking this, that’s all I can say.

    13. $20 is honestly not that much. I’m more than happy to pay that to enjoy these classics again, sure beats paying HUNDREDS for the originals.

    14. I don’t know why you’re being downvoted for this. The YouTube comments section is literally filled with people trying to throw their wallets at their screens.

    15. The only reason I’m not buying the game is I can’t play the game side by side with some friends like how the game was designed

Otherwise $20 would have been perfectly fair

    16. It should be both games for $20 in one launcher. It’s time to stop this anti-consumer dual versions thing.
