Well they made a Witcher 3 and they’re making a Witcher 4. What does that tell you?
To give you a real answer though, what made this game great in its time was not the same thing that makes games great today. You play these games to experience the games as they were, and if that’s not something you enjoy, you might find it hard to play.

Any game is worth $2 to try and see.
It’s a Eurojank Xbox 360 game so temper expectations as far as gameplay/combat goes but the story is fantastic and carries over to Witcher 3.

On PC yeah. I love the Witcher 2, but the combat is extremely, extremely dated by today’s standards.
On PC you can use mods. It frequently goes for a couple of bucks on sale at GOG.
