The old 2ds has always felt like the closest modern console to a gameboy

I feel like the original cheese wedge 2ds gets a lot of flack, but having grown up with a Gameboy color and Gameboy advance, I feel like this is the best way to experience those games with a "modern" console. I have a 3ds XL as well, but playing retro handheld games just feels right on the og 2ds. Am I the only one who feels that way?
