“This is an Xbox” campaign was ex-president Sarah Bond’s idea, report claims, and employees didn’t love it at all

    1. Funny how stuff like this only bubbles up when the person responsible is gone. Wouldn’t it be… idk, better to speak up internally? I think the gaming industry, devs and apparently Xbox alike, have a problem with not speaking up when something is a bad idea. Sure, the “little guys” working there have no actual influence on the decisions made by the higher ups, but, idk, maybe I look through rose tinted glasses, but I think speaking up when something is bad, or a bad idea is the way to go.

A lot of developers struggle with that. Recent example was Highguard. In their bubbles everything is a good idea, we can do no wrong etc.

I have to say, with Xbox in particular now everyone knew this was a bad idea. And it clearly didn’t work out, did it? Last financial reports by Xbox the numbers were down across the board, Less subscribers, less money, less everything.

So their idea of “hey, your calc is an xbox now, sub to Gamepass” clearly didn’t pan out. Didn’t Xbox have an utterly ridiculous subscriber goal by the year 20xx? That was so ridiculously high, again, it makes you wonder in what kinda bubble they all reside in.

I don’t get it, man. Sony and especially Nintendo are seemingly content with how things go in the biz. Why is MS trying to fumble so hard?! For gods sake, make great games people wanna buy. How hard is that damn concept?!?! I get it, the Xbox One absolutely murdered the Xbox brand, and their rep is in the gutter basically worldwide. But isn’t that an even bigger reason to go above and beyond? But nah, here’s the next Gamepass hike and another moronic statement by someone that probably shouldn’t talk, ever. Sheesh man.
