Anyone know if this drive is compatible with ps4 and ps5? My 2TB HHD broke after a good 8 years after a power outage in rest mode. Looking for a new one.
Looking for a HDD to directly play games from. Don't want to constantly move files around to play a game.

sure why not.. but note that on a PS5 you wont be able to play PS5 games off it (or any external drive for that matter)
On PS5/PS5 Pro, it works fine for backup… but if you want to play games from it, then no.
I think some tech things need to be cleared up since you’re asking this question. Any USB drive will work with the PS5. There is nothing I can think of that would cause any modern USB external HDD to not work.
Like mr-photo said only PS4 games will play off of USB HDDs and SSDs. However, you can use an external USB drive to offload PS5 games. You will need the internal expansion drive for additional storage for playing PS5 games. That would require any Gen4 NVME SSD, I believe the minimum speed requirement is 5000Mb/s, and if you use a Gen3 NVME you’ll receive a warning that PS5 games either cannot play off of it or will be perform worse.
Does it meet the requirements listed on the PS Support page?

Please note: Only play PS4 games can be played directly from an external storage device, when used on a PS5.
