Dead Space, though its a shame Callisto Protocol didn’t do as well.

Callisto Protocol is absolute trash. Sorry to anyone who liked it(believe me, I tried to enjoy it).
It’s an absolute failure of the development process to think you can hinge an entire game on those shoddy melee combat mechanics. It’s like they didn’t play test it with anyone outside of the dev studio and had a bunch of yes-men telling Glen Shoefield how great his farts smelled the entire time.
Dead Space, especially the remake, is a masterpiece.

Too me they’re not scary games, more stressful and tense. Some parts are downright goofy with big monsters throwing you about, and you have too much power for a true horror game. To be honest, that’s exactly why I love dead space, you’re pretty capable and it makes sense within the world.
Scariest game I ever played was alien isolation. That’s not the kind of game you play for fun… more of a test

Dead Space, and there’s really no comparison.
Calisto is a cool game (underrated/overhated, I’d say, even), but it can’t compete with DS in any department other than visuals, really. Much less in scare factor.
