Dunno how I feel about a Meat Boy game without Edmund McMillen at the helm

WHOA. I didn’t even know this was confirmed for Switch 2?? Awesome!

It looks solid, was hoping for something more Crash Bandicoot than 3D World but this is fine. Difficult 3D platformers are hard to come by.

Meat Boy was hard enough for me in 2D. I’m not sure I could manage in 3D. But it looks great

Feels like it’s missing some of the humor from the original release. Little things like Meat Boy and Bandage Girl waving at each other or squirrels getting casually slaughtered. The cutscenes here feels overly serious.
Other than that, the gameplay looks pretty solid. As long as changing directions doesn’t mess with the orientation on the control stick, it looks like it will play pretty well.

Unfortunately most platformers are shit as 3D. I would prefer a sequel in 2D

I’m sold.

I watched gameplay of it at least. It doesn’t look any different from its 2D predecessor in terms of gameplay, and the animations look and feel off. It’s a little choppy animation wise at a glance, at least for me, and the music doesn’t feel as memorable as Super Meat Boy did when Danny composed it.
2D to 3D is hard to pull off and only a select few do it well. Risk of Rain, I had my doubts, but when 2 came out? Such a wonderful experience, and it had some new gimmicks, characters, stages, right out of the box.
It’s only a demo, but I don’t feel reassured it’s bringing anything new to the table with its jump from 2D to 3D. I’m hoping for warp zones and new characters, but… I’m doubtful.
There’s a midair dash now? That’s new? Eh.

The controls look as snappy as the original, which is a great sign.

I played a bit of a demo of this on my laptop, 3060 and r7, and the optimization was quite bad, as I am looking at the footage above, it is blurry and even 30fps, which is not a great thing.

This looks like the void levels in Blue Fire. I’m all in.
