i was trying to open the back of the 3ds to change the analog stick since it wore down, i managed to unscrew 7 out of the 8 screws but the last one stripped, is it safe to drill the whole screw out assuming that i have the drill bit as big as the screw? thanks you guys a lot.

Yes, just make sure to do it only in that place and slowly. The underlying plastic mold will be very likely done after that and wont hold a screw anymore at all.
Just be careful when opening the device because of the connectors between the upper and lower housing parts.
