Gold Points were discontinued on 3/24/25, but physical games that came out before then can still be registered by inserting the card and pressing + on the icon in the menu, as long as the game is less than a year old. As of now, the only physical releases I'm aware of that can still be registered are MLB The Show 25, and Xenoblade X, each of which released a few days before the cutoff. And in a couple weeks, those will be ineligible too, and only then will gold point acquisition truly die.
MLB and Xenoblade released on 3/18 and 3/20 respectively, and if you register them now, the gold points will last for another year. I'm planning to spend the points I got from Xenoblade the last day of the month they expire, as late as possible, because I think it's funny. It'll feel crazy to have these points in 2027, even though it's just worth 60 cents. Just kind of a special preservation of history
