Hey guys! Im very new to everything 3ds and the circle pad broke while using it. I noticed there were some replacements online (I was looking on ifixit, or if anyone has any better recommendations I’ll gladly hear!) and saw there were a couple different options. One to replace the entire assembly and another to replace just the button. I assume I just need to button, but one of the reviews said i need to reuse the washer. Is the broken washer pictures the same one I need? If so does anyone know where I can purchase that little washer, or where to purchase as a set (button plus the washer). From the videos ive watched online do I still need to disassemble it to install the button or can it just be pushed back on? Thanks everyone! This is on a 3ds xl

Those snapped pieces in your pic appear to be the plastic part of the thumb stick, not the washer which is inside the system. Replacing the stick is not difficult if you follow a video step by step, just be gentle with screws and take your time. There are metal thumb sticks available to prevent another break, but might not work with the rubber cap.
