Capcom delivered a marketing masterclass with Resident Evil Requiem. Requiem sold best on PS5

    1. I sort of agree. These mfs released a new trailer every other week for the last 9 months (exaggerating of course, but damn, it was a *lot*). And as someone who doesn’t love RE because I’m a huge fucking baby, they were *good.* Even I’m aware of the significance of Leon and Racoon City, and they did a great job drip-feeding these things over all the trailers.

The thing is, only a Capcom-sized company can do this. It’s not skill or tech or knowledge holding this back, it’s getting buy-in and willingness to spend the crazy amount of money it took to create, edit, and premiere all of those trailers.

Crazy how games like boarderlands 4 still have billboards up in LA costing hundreds of thousands of dollars in marketing and RE9 just dropped some cool videos. Sad some marketing teams are so out of touch.

    3. Hmm. I think I’ve reached the point where I hate the term “masterclass.”

    4. Not surprised. There are a lot more reviews for the game on PS5 than on Steam. Same for Nioh 3

The previous episodes were good and the idea of a competent AAA game nowadays feels like a miracle
