I opened up my New Nintendo 3DS and found this molten plastic looking piece and I hope this isn't the cause of one of these problems.
Problem 1: My 3DS has a black screen, but when I turned him down, after seeing this new bigger Problem for the first time, he showed me the normal turning down screen. The second time I tried to turn him up and down he hasn't shown me anything at all.
Note: This problem happened after I first turned him on after years.
Problem 2: When a game card is inserted and the game is played the cardslot thinks the card got ejected. This happened when the device got lightly shaken (like picking it up from the bed and lifting it).

Looks like silicon glue, or insulating glue, found in many electronics
It’s silicone glue, and normal. All of the 3DS family systems I’ve worked have had similar, and it often doesn’t look particularly neat.
that’s how it’s supposed to look.
