I found this New 3DS XL for $260 AUD ($184 USD) on Facebook marketplace, and what I’m worried about is the top screen’s bezel. In the pictures, it’s got a gray bezel, but I’m pretty sure it should be the same colour as the console itself, which is metallic blue. The bottom shell is also black. The seller doesn’t say anything about it being repaired at any point in the description, should I avoid this? Also I’ve never owned any of the consoles in the DS lineup, what should I do and look for when I look at it in person?

It looks like it might’ve had some work done, either the screen got replaced and blue shell was added, or it was originally the blue color and they used the spare grey backing (which is still a strange choice).
This wouldn’t necessarily dictate the functionality of the console itself, but if I were to check it out in person I’d make sure that it turns on and reads games and charges properly. If you care about wearing earbuds while you game id suggest taking a spare pair of earbuds with you just to check. Otherwise, I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s suspicious but listing it as brand new is a bit weird…

    2. I wouldnt say sketchy, but it was repaired for sure. Top screen lens was replaced, joystick also, back plate is from different console. Photo quality is poor but top screen rubber covers looks like they were removed & reapplied. But still, screen may have been broken & replaced, if it was replaced properly, theres not much to worry about. Idk how much n3ds xl are being sold for in AU, but if it was repaierd, it should also be cheaper
