Hi everyone! I'm an Italian guy living in Germany, and I'm 20 years old (as of the day before yesterday).
13 years ago (I was 7), I broke my Nintendo DS Lite (the hinge broke, making the top screen non-functional), and since then, my parents haven't bought me a Nintendo console.
Not because they didn't have the money, but because my father, meanwhile, had developed a sort of belief in himself that ALL consoles (even a simple cell phone) were absolute EVIL, like Satan living in your house (having become a Catholic Christian, perhaps overly religious), and so he refused to buy a console (be it a Nintendo, a PlayStation, or whatever), and even forbade me from buying one with my own money!
But the some time ago I said to myself: "Wait a minute… …I want to buy, and play, a 3DS!"
Yes, because, you know, it's easy to hide a 3DS from my parents (since I still live in my parents house, because I'm still studying). It's not, for example, a Nintendo Switch, which is a bit cumbersome to hide anyway, or a PlayStation/Xbox console (which I wouldn't have wanted to buy anyway) that you have to mount to a TV to play. A Nintendo 3DS is a portable console.
And this time I didn't give a damn about my dad, since this time I had my own bank account with my own money and could do whatever I wanted with it.
Anyway, I looked for them for weeks, and months, but after a long wait, here they are!
First of all, we have my NEW Nintendo 3DS! I bought it in a thrift store for 220 euros (equivalent to 250 dollars). But deep down I knew I wasn't (completely) satisfied; even though this NEW 3DS was already fantastic, I wanted more! I wanted what is called the "definitive version of the Nintendo 3DS"! And I managed to find it! Because a few weeks later, the same store that had sold me the NEW 3DS put up for sale two NEW 3DS XLs. I wasted no time and bought one of the two for €270 (equivalent to $310).
Both of them have a one-year warranty included.
I'm super happy with my purchase!
The only flaw with my New 3DS is that the cover is missing on the "bottom." (I'll buy a cover for the NEW 3DS when I find one).
But on both consoles, the screens are immaculate, the buttons are in perfect condition, and the styluses are the original ones.
And today, after 13 years, I can finally hold two Nintendo 3DS consoles!
I can't wait to play them! I bought a LOT of games (which I'm showing you in the photo) that I want to enjoy while I put myself in the shoes of a 12-year-old who longed to play these video game masterpieces.
What do you think of my purchase (and my story)?
