I always thought Leon Kennedy was my favourite male video gaming character. I was wrong. It’s this guy hands down

Santa Monica deserve all the plaudits, flowers & praise for giving us one of the best ever written & performed characters in gaming. It is a testament to character development, writing & legacy that Kratos has always been presented in such a stellar fashion. I've been playing currently through the 2018 game & it is a perfect continuation of his character. No matter what the original creator, David Jaffe says or thinks & he says a lot. He will always have my thanks for creating the franchise & giving us this character, it's my favourite Playstation franchise for a reason, after all. But he's beyond wrong when he says the current direction of Kratos is wrong or an insult to the character. It's because Kratos was allowed to grow, evolve & mature that he's solidified as one of the all time greatest protagonists in gaming history. We've seen him go from a general who served Ares, when he pledged his loyalty, to a vengeful warrior who lost his family & declared war on the gods, his own father Zeus & the pantheon as a whole, to a father raising a son in Atreus who serves an example to Kratos himself, to be better. David supposedly wants Kratos to remain a warrior past the times, then he's lost track of his own creation. Kratos is a hardened & tough man, who's been through several experiences & has been shaped by them, through the journey that made him transition from the Ghost Of Sparta to the bringer of peace, throughout the Nine Realms. If that isn't character development, then I don't know what it is. Leon is still one of my favourites. He's in my top 5 absolutely, along with Link, MasterChief & Solid Snake. But for me, as far as my favourite character goes. Kratos is top of my list. Because he is truly a diamond of a gaming character. I cannot wait for the trilogy remake & to see the next evolution of Kratos's story
